Hello (the get-to-know thread)

Hello, my name is Gwen (Well actually, that's only pretty close, I'm not allowed to put my name on the Internet) I'm 14 and I love to draw and write.

I've been drawing (Or attempting to draw, I don't think the first stuff really counts) anime for 4 years now and I'm still not particularly good. I started reading web comics about 3 years ago with my very first example, Path of a Fallen Angel.

Since then I have read such wonders as Inverloch, Earthsong and finally got bit by the web comic bug to start my own comic on smackjeeves and Drunk duck, The Book Of Worlds.

However, My first passion was always writing and making up worlds. I have about six different worlds currently operational, each with a different culture, set of rules and story. I've never finished a story, but I'd like to think it's because I always try to work alone.

I live in a small college town in Ohio, this means that small towns in the Midwest are a setting I tend to write for in the real world.

However, I have traveled abroad before; having been to 28 states, 6 countries and 3 continents.

Now, how about you guys, What are you like, or what do you want to know about me?

Well, I is Sophie. I started out drawing manga about...2 years ago, during the summer, I beleive, and I thought I knew how to draw but I really didnt. xDD So then I kept drawing and like uh...then about 6 months later I wrote my first novel, which was probably the best one I have ever written, because back then I wasnt into realistic people and realistic reactions to actions (heh, heh?). But yess. I live in PA and enjoy erm..eating and drawing and organizing ( 0_o ).

Hola, my name is Neal(liked to be called Rasuel on the web) my world is drawing. I can write a little, but my very poor spelling skills make it too difficult and tedious to get into.

I've been shapening my skill since the 4th grade, and still have much to learn. The Pokemon/Digimon age got me into the whole drawing world, and I've never left.

I have only just started to get into manga, some favorites of mine are Shaman King (dur), Marchen awakens romance, and Aoi house.

I've tried to do my own manga works (3 times to be exact), but none of them got too far.

I live in a small town in the south part of Wisconsin. Was born in Arizona (forgot where I lived, too young), and was almost bitten by a baby rattler, no joke.

I haven't traveled too much, but in 2008(I hope) I will have the trip of a life time, I would be hidding off to Japan.

Nice to meet everyone, and I hope this will be a funny experiance.

Ok, I guess it's my turn...I'm Sakuto. I make people in real life call me that, so you should too.

I have many hobbies, which, in no particular order, include drawing, writing, martial arts, watching anime, reading manga, and playing video games.

The most distinctive thing about me is the martial arts. I am currently studying 5 martial arts (at the same time!): Karate, Taekwondo, Aikido, Judo, and my favorite, Koga ryu Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu, in case you didn't know, is the art of the ninja. YEah, it's the fighting style, weapon style, stealth, and military tactics all rolled into one. It owns every other art I've studied^^

With these martial arts, I've gotten into plenty of fights, none of them have I started, mind you, and I am proud to say I have never lost! Seriously^^. I know over 40 pressure points and can hit them in the midst of battle, and I know how to break arms, legs, wrists, ankles, ribs, and necks. Yeah, don't mess with me ;D I have mastered 4 different weapons, and mastering a weapon takes a lot of work, about 2 or 3 years. The weapons I've mastered would be Jo staff, katana or any curved sword, Nunchaku, and shuriken(throwing stars)- ok, shuriken you can learn in a week

Anyways, onto what matters here. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, and I've been making comics since about 6th grade, american style. Over the last six months my style has taken a dramatic step towards anime and manga, and in the last 2 or 3 months, the quality of the styles has dramatically improved as well. I specialize in manga that involve action, magic-like stuff, and comedy.

my name here and almost everywhere on the internet is misaokat, or kat for short!I'm a blue eyed blonde 14 year old!

I've been drawing and making stories forever, but didn't get into manga/anime art till 5th grade, and now i'm pretty good. And i rlly started writing in late 6th grade, early 7th.

I like to work in groups aslong as we all get along XD and i like to hang out and just talk. I'm not big on sports, but i'm good at soccer and martial arts. i live video games, and i'm on the computer as much as possible.

I like stuff like death note, rurouni kenshin, jungle guu, naruto, vampire night, beauty pop, and lots of others.

Well, I'm Zukoh. 15 years old, female, a tad psychotic, but I like to think loveable overall.
I get called many names. I'm like, a superspy or something [:

I'm pretty good at writing, but I don't often write stories unless they're for school D: I roleplay lots though, so that's probably where I honed my skills. I read lots, too, which probably accounts for it as well.

I lovelovelove webdesign. I've been into it for at least the past 5 years, and adore making websites, graphics, profiles and all that fun stuff ;D I was planning on having a neopets userlookup site but I never got around to finishing it so, that went out the window. D:

I love drawing too. I'm not the best, I'll never claim to be, but I really enjoy it. I spend lots of time looking at artists who are better then me, and comparing our work. I also practise drawing things lots too. I'm ace at red peppers ;D I've been into manga since forever (no joke, my uncle's a complete comic nerd <33) and a few years back, I got into my uncle's first love - American comic books. I'm also in love with Jhonen Vasquez's work: JtHM, Squee and I Feel Sick are awesome.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is my favourite. I like Danny Phantom, Invader Zim and Fairly Odd Parents too~

My favourite mangas are Shaman King (<333), Death Note, Fairy Tail and Muhyo to Rouji.
Musically, I have very broad tastes, but my favourite band ever are The Offspring. I draw so many pictures listening to them it's unbelievable.

Hellu! I'm Kitty. I'm 16 years old, a girl, and drawing is my life! Ever since I was 8, I've been drawing and loving it. I also write stories, but I never finish them. I have about.. eh.. 5 unfinished stories. I just get a lot of writers block and when I do I make another story! ^_^;; I guess it's kinda sad.

I roleplay a lot. I love roleplaying! It's one of the only things that I can put my imagination into! I roleplay almost every genre too! I like varety.

I guess I'm into anime. I don't watch much anime just for entertainment a lot. It's more for learning different poses and other things for when I'm drawing. I guess it'd be studying! Omg.. wow I study . >_>;; Anyway, only a few anime has ever hooked me in for interest: Host Club ((Hilarious!)), Azumanga Daioh, DBZ, Sailormoon, Tenchi, Blood Plus, Golden Boy, Samarai Champloo, and Marmalade Boy. It's not very many compared to many people I have met!! *points up to list* Not very many at all! If you know any good one's let me know! I love looking at everyone's different art styles.

Um.. what else. Oh! i love animals! Oh and food too! I honestly don't know what this has to do with drawing or writing or even anime, but it says Get-to-Know on the title, so it can fit. Okay, about food. I am a big eater who has a very fast metabilism. I gain no weight and it bugs me. Will I become a stick as time passes by?! >_< If any of you know how to cook, please tell me! I need recipes, easy ones. I'm not the best cook around, even though my mom is a 4 star chef *cough cough*, I need help ^_^;;

What else to say.. I've studied spanish for 2 years and I know Turkish very well. I can also play the piano, "Mary had a little lamb" ((And Mary did have a lamb and it's fleece was white as snow!)) on the Sax, and some on the flute. I can sing too! I guess you'd say, I'm a multi-talented girl! ^//^ Yay.

Yo... Crow here to give you a word of advice... Hm... Crap. It would seem that Crow has forgotten what advice is. He'll have to try again later. The current age is 18 I'm whatever that scale thingy from the zodiac is and I'm currently working on two comics... You probably haven't noticed yet but I suffer from mental instability... Well, not usually. But there was this one time in Mexico... ScarecrowKing's deviantart. This is where I dump all the junk that floats around in what I call my skull. If I ever get around to cleaning up Butterman so that it is worthy of scanning I'll undoubtedly bring suffering to all the internet. (That just how great Butterman is.)

My name, not real name, is Chiyoko. I'm 15, real age x'D. I live in the US and go to school at Lowell High [it's not that easy to figure out where I live since there are so many Lowell HS's, I think].

I've never really liked anime, maybe even hated it, until I borrowed Inuyasha from the library for my cousins. Then, I started to draw anime stuff [or manga, w/e you want to call it. I'm just talking about style], well, attempt to. Maybe I'll show you guys my progress over the years. Which brings me to say, I've begun arting anime since 2004. My art style still bothers me, and so does my coloring style, so I hope to improve and develope a more original and better looking style (I said "style wayyy to much). And not to mention, I'll have to study color theory -.-;. I've also attemped to make comics, but not really web comics since I didn't have internet. They all failed since my art style changed dramatically during the comics. My first few were on LINED PAPER. I was so ... blyehh. I threw most of the comics away. I probably attempted about 6, probably more.

And not until recently, when I joined Gaia, did I truly understand what "art theft" really is. And I realized I've done it quite a few times [/shame].

About my personality. For some reason people, some people, think I'm hyper. Others think I'm mature. Then there's also emo, smart, weird [definitely, annoying, shy, quiet, manly~ lol, and once even b****y [but that's because I asked another girl if she was going to get a nose-job when she grows up. Yes, my fault]. I don't know, maybe a teacher's pet. Back in middle school, that is. Oh yes, I've been called evil as well.

As for academics ... I like learning. I like math. I like writing. I like analyzing written work and symbolism blahh, but only when I choose to do it. I'm doing better in history. I like traditional chinese characters. I like being fit, but not being conditioned [which brings me to say, I also like washing my hair and anything else to do with the hair on my head].

I'm a loner? At least I think I am. I'm not sure what other people think. I don't fit into a whole lot of cliques. Maybe teachers like me more than friends do =.=; Hopefully not. Yeah. Picture timeline will be posted soon. I find them interesting. It's really cool to see something change. Just like a before-after picture x'D
